Range Rules

All members must abide by the rules and regulations of the UCOA. Anyone misusing the UCOA facility will be subject to loosing their membership. The UCOA offers the membership a wide variety of activity and promotes the safe use of firearms. Activities include, but not limited to, Fishing, Archery, Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, Rifle & Pistol range, IDPA, IPSC, Carbine and Club rental. The range is open during daylight hours with the exception of trap and skeet for Thursday and Friday nights or special events.

 

DO NOT SHOOT PORTABLE TARGET STANDS OR STEEL FRAMES. Once you have finished shooting dispose of any cardboard or paper targets. The portable target stands should be placed in front of the backstop to prevent the bullets from skipping off the ground and over the 100-yard backstop.

 

UCOA Range Rules

  1. All shooters must have their membership card while at the range.
  2. Trustees & Board Members reserve the right to validate membership upon request.
  3. Trustees & Board Members reserve the right to revoke membership.
  4. Paper or cardboard targets only. NO SILHOUETTE targets are allowed on the range.
  5. DO NOT SHOOT the steel frame used to hang targets.
  6.  An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18.
  7. DO NOT shoot buckshot at the rubber mats. Sighting in deer slugs is permissible.
  8. Automatic weapons may only be shot in semi-automatic mode. No exceptions.
  9. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the shooting range.
  10. Anyone on the range must have eye and ear protection. No exceptions.
  11. No armor piercing rounds or tracers permitted on the range.

UCOA Trustee and Board members reserve the right to close the range at anytime. Special shooting events such as Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, IDPA, IPSC, Archery or Gun Training take precedents over the use of the range. Consult the UCOA calendar for a listing of schedule events.

 

Everyone using the rifle and pistol range is required to sign-in. The sign-in sheet is located at the rear of the 25-yard shooting bench in the mailbox.

No loaded firearms permitted in the UCOA Club house. All actions must be opened while in the club house. DO NOT handle live ammunition when in the club house.
